WorkAdventure 1.24 has just arrived with big improvements

We are thrilled to announce the release of WorkAdventure 1.24. We have been working for the last months on major improvements such as the integration of Microsoft Teams, the modifications of the chat interface, new functionalities for the chatroom’s administration, the picture-in-picture mode and more.
New chat system: what the new interface has to offer
The new design
The chat’s appearance has just evolved so you can feel more comfortable while chatting on the 1.24 version of WorkAdventure.

This new design is not only pretty, but it is also more ergonomic. For instance, if you organize your chat rooms into folders, the last folder used will be displayed in priority.
In addition, now it’s totally possible to drag and drop your files into the chat on WorkAdventure, making it way easier to send documents.
Moreover, you won’t need to worry about missed texts because chat notifications will arrive at your desktop.
Chat moderation in WorkAdventure 1.24
Chat moderation has always been an important topic for us, that’s why we’re glad to announce that you now have more power as an admin in matrix chat rooms with WorkAdventure 1.24. Administrators are now able to invite people to their chat rooms, assigning roles to the participants: Admin, moderator or user. Moreover, as an admin or a moderator, you can kick, ban and unban users from your chat room.

Tag-based chat room management
Isn’t it tiring to manually add the members and moderators into your chat room? Good news, this is no longer an issue. Admins can now add users and moderators just by using their tags. How does this work? Let me show you an example.

Let’s say you work in a company that’s hosting its workplace on WorkAdventure, and all your employees have an assigned tag according to the team they belong to (marketing, finance, logistic, HR, etc.). And now let’s imagine you want to create a chatroom where all the employees of the finance department should be included, in that case you only have to write the tag “finance” on the member’s space on the left and that’s it! They’re all added to your chat space. And if you wanted, for example, to include the HR team as a moderator, you only need to write the tag “HR” on the moderator’s space on the right, and problem solved.
Pro tip: in WorkAdventure, you can already manage groups of people with the Communities feature. People in the same community share the same tags, and by reusing the tags of a community in a tag-based chat room, the community members will automatically be invited to the chat rooms relevant to that community.
Joining Microsoft Teams with WorkAdventure 1.24
We are very happy to say that WorkAdventure has finally joined Microsoft Teams. As you all can imagine, we have been working very hard in order to complete the integration of Teams and WorkAdventure 1.24, and the results couldn’t be better.
Create Teams meeting rooms
You can design meeting rooms on your map, and every time someone gets in with their avatar, they’re instantly transported to the virtual meeting hosted on Microsoft Teams.

Synchronisation of status
Every change on your status that you make on an app will automatically impact and modify your status on the other app, it doesn’t matter whether you change your status on Microsoft Teams or WorkAdventure, the modification will always be visible on both apps.

SSO and Synchronisation of calendar and to-do list
The calendar and the to-do list are 100% synchronized between Teams and WorkAdventure, so every change you make on one app will automatically modify the other app. This allows you to freely and easily check your schedule from both software pieces. Besides, thanks to the Single Sign On (SSO) you can log in to WorkAdventure with your username and password from Microsoft Teams.
Picture-in-Picture mode now in WorkAdventure 1.24
The picture-in-picture mode allows you to keep an eye on the webcam of the people you’re talking to while sharing your screen or browsing on the internet.

Device detection
Every time you connect a video or audio device, WorkAdventure 1.24 will tell you through a notification that a new device has been connected, and it will offer the possibility to select the connected device for the video call, whether it is a new web camera, a pair of headphones, different speakers, a karaoke microphone, etc. Once you willingly select a device for a video call, this one will be set as default for the next meetings.
Community developments for WorkAdventure 1.24
The heart and soul of WorkAdventure are open source, that’s why we have to thank this massive community for all the help and support. Thanks to our folks, WorkAdventure now has bigger improvements, such as new languages and new configuration options.
New configuration – blocking distractions
You can now block the music and all types of ambient sound in your map. Additionally, it’s now possible to disable the map title animations.

New languages
WorkAdventure’s interface is now available in Dutch, Japanese and Italian.
New features might be coming soon
Although we’re very happy to announce this release, we shall continue with our developments for WorkAdventure in order to create a friendly and intuitive interface for users. That’s why we always encourage our community to come over and share with us any type of comments and ideas that might lead to a better software and a greater experience, talking about new possible features for the future.
