WorkAdventure 1.25 presents a brand-new design

We’re excited to announce that WorkAdventure’s 1.25 version is now available for all of you. With a major redesign, a new responsive menu, a smart and adaptable interface, and many new features, we improved our software for your comfort and convenience.
After one year of hard work, sweat, and tears from our entire team, we finally developed and launched our much-awaited redesign. WorkAdventure 1.25 is an incredibly ergonomic app with numerous features that should make users’ lives easier within a virtual environment.
Changing the camera layout
Webcams move to the top of the screen
Every time you approach an avatar and trigger a discussion bubble, the webcams will be displayed on the upper part of your screen, making it easier to have virtual eye contact because cameras are normally installed on the top of computers and laptops.

In the previous versions of WorkAdventure, the webcam screen always appeared in the lower right corner of the screen. Therefore, video conversations never felt completely natural, due to the lack of virtual eye contact.
Screen real estate with WorkAdventure 1.25
Within a discussion bubble, you can shape and adjust the size of your webcam screen according to your visual preferences. Thanks to this new feature, you can now decide how big or small the webcams should be.

Screen sharing in full-screen
We got rid of all the screen size limitations, and users can now display the screen sharing in a 100% full-screen mode that covers the entire screen of your computer, laptop, or smartphone.
WorkAdventure 1.25 is smartphone-friendly
Thanks to the webcam modifications, if you use WorkAdventure’s app on a smartphone, you can now approach other avatars and engage in a video discussion. Your phone camera, which is normally in vertical mode, will be smartly adjusted and displayed on the interface.

New smart menu of WorkAdventure 1.25
Like the webcams, WorkAdventure’s menu was reorganized and moved to the upper part of the screen. Our action bar not only looks different, but it’s more intelligent now. This brand-new burger menu displays all the possible and existing items and buttons, adapting to your screen size.

Additionally, the menu buttons now play videos whenever you place your mouse on them, showing a small tutorial of the feature that the selected item offers.

Bubble system: Speak your mind
In addition to this brand new design, we are shipping a long-awaited feature: a “speech bubble” system! Create a dialogue bubble on your avatar’s head and write down everything you want to say to the world. Express what you’re currently thinking or doing, and let everyone know how your mood is today.

Designing your world with White Label Mode
Thanks to our White Label feature, it is possible to design and decorate your virtual space with all the elements of your identity and your brand (colors, logos, furniture, etc.). With WorkAdventure 1.25, you can now change the user interface color to match the colors of your brand (both background color and “primary” color).
Other small upgrades
Last but not least, we would like to mention new features and improvements that took place in WorkAdventure 1.25. Therefore, we present our boosted co-website interface with a tab system that looks and works like any other internet browser you normally use, displaying websites and apps on different tabs within WorkAdventure’s environment.
Moreover, the map editor tool was redesigned and adjusted, and it now shows the names of all the areas inside your map. On the other hand, WorkAdventure’s chat display was refurbished to improve the reading and scrolling experience.
Coming soon
As we mentioned before, this redesign and new version of WorkAdventure took one year of hard work, and we’re proud of it. Nevertheless, there’s still a long way and an upcoming future filled with new improvements and features that would aim to boost the experience of our users.
In this scenario, we’d like to anticipate some of the soon-to-be features, focusing on the integration of Livekit and Discord.
Video conversations with Livekit
Livekit is a video server that would allow us to replace our old Jitsi system, used mostly to host online meetings in Jitsi rooms. Thanks to Livekit, the meeting room experience would be greatly improved, and it’ll be possible to trigger discussion bubbles with more than four participants, encouraging our community to have more spontaneous interactions like in real life.
Discord integration
On the other hand, the Discord integration will allow our users to synchronize their Discord servers with their WorkAdventure’s worlds. This synchronization implies not only a direct connection between both chats’ servers but also a whitelist system that would only allow the Discord server members to access the map in WorkAdventure.
