When you sign up, you get the Free plan, and a one-month free trial of the premium features. You can move to a paid plan at any time.
The Free plan
- Up to 10 people connected at the same time, with no time limit
- Audio, video and chat, conferences with speaker zones, screen sharing, direct messages, status, virtual backgrounds and noise reduction
- Map templates, the map editor, embedded apps, gamification and one AI bot
- Public rooms: anyone with the link can come in
The paid plans
There are two. Event is billed per day and per user, for a one-off event. Business is billed per month or per year and per user, for a remote office. Both add:
- More capacity: you choose how many people can be connected at the same time, and pay for that number
- Members, tags and rights, access limited to specific email addresses, SSO, and the right to ban or kick people
- Recording, and live streaming to YouTube
- Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Google Calendar and Google Meet integrations
- Personalised avatars, white label and your own domain name
- Analytics, the visitors list, webhooks, a Customer Success Manager, an onboarding expert, priority support and an uptime SLA

The Free plan has no time limit. It includes the following features.
- Up to 10 people connected at the same time in your space
- Unlimited audio, video and chat: walk up to someone with your avatar and the conversation starts
- Conferences, lectures and seminars, with speaker zones where only the speaker is seen and heard
- Several people sharing their screen at the same time
- Direct messages and group chats, with text, pictures, videos, links and files
- Status: show whether you are busy or away, and choose whether your camera and microphone are muted when WorkAdventure is behind another tab
- Virtual backgrounds and noise reduction
- Embedded apps such as YouTube, Klaxoon, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Drive, Eraser, Excalidraw and Cards
- Gamification: quests, badges and certificates
- Prebuilt map templates, and the map editor to change your space’s layout, areas and interactive elements
- Personalised desks and rooms
- AI bots: one bot on the free tier
- Blocking or reporting someone who misbehaves
- Business cards, and your own contact page for your world

On the Free plan, rooms are public: anyone with the link can come in. Rooms open only to your members need a paid plan.

The paid plans, Event and Business, include everything in the Free plan, plus the following features.
Capacity and support
- As many people connected at the same time as your plan covers: you choose the capacity you need
- Analytics: usage statistics on how participants use your space
- An onboarding expert, priority support and an uptime SLA
- A Customer Success Manager
Access and security
- Members: invite people to your world one by one or from a CSV file, and give them tags
- Tags, roles and rights: open some rooms only to members with a given tag, or give a tag moderation rights
- Access limited to specific email addresses
- Auto login: each member gets a personal link that signs them in
- Ban or kick people, and read the reports your users send
- SSO: let people sign in with your own identity provider through OpenID Connect, and choose which login methods your world accepts
- The list of users connected to your world, in the administration dashboard
Meetings and events
- Recording of bubbles and meeting rooms. Recordings are kept for 3 months
- Live streaming to YouTube Live
- Global messages: send a text or audio message to everyone in a room
Integrations
- Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Google Calendar and Google Meet
- Third-party message apps, to read and answer your WorkAdventure messages without opening your world
Your brand
- Personalised avatars: your own outfits and accessories, which you can keep for members with a given tag
- White label: your own logo, colours and meta tags, without WorkAdventure’s branding.

Login methods
Visitors can register with an email and a password, or with a social login such as Google, LinkedIn or GitHub. On a paid plan you decide which of these methods your world accepts, and you can make your own SSO the only one.

On the Free plan, up to 10 people can be connected at the same time in your space.
On a paid plan, the limit is the capacity you choose: you pick how many people you need connected at the same time, and subscribe for that number. See our pricing page.

The Free plan allows up to 10 people connected at the same time in your space. Anyone who tries to join beyond that is refused access.
If you need more capacity, upgrade to one of our paid plans.

You can get a free account for your non-commercial open source project if it meets all these criteria:
- Your project meets the Open Source definition
- Your project is at least 3 months old
- Your project is actively and regularly developed
- You are the project lead or an active committer
- Your project is NOT sponsored by a commercial company or organization
- Your project does NOT have paid employees
- Your project does NOT provide commercial services (such as consulting or training) around the software, and does NOT distribute paid versions of the software

The self-hosted version of WorkAdventure is distributed under the AGPL v3 license modified by the Commons Clause. The source code is available on GitHub.
Because it is based on the AGPL license, you can freely:
- Use the software as you wish
- Change the software as you wish
If you redistribute the software, or put a modified version of it online, you must make the source code of the modified software available. Any changes you make must be shared with the community.
Because the AGPL license is modified by the Commons Clause, there is one thing you cannot do: sell a version of WorkAdventure online as a service (as a SaaS).
You can:
- Install the software in your company
- Sell services for installing the software for other companies
You cannot:
- Offer online subscriptions to a WorkAdventure server you put online
The WorkAdventure team is the only entity allowed to sell subscriptions to the solution online.
The self-hosted administration panel, which we provide only in some cases, is a separate product: it needs a license from WorkAdventure, provided when you subscribe. See what is the difference between the online version of WorkAdventure and the self-hosted version?

WorkAdventure’s source code is on GitHub, under the AGPL v3 license with the Commons Clause.
You can read the code, install it, change it and run it yourself. The Commons Clause adds one restriction: you cannot sell WorkAdventure online as a service. See what is the license of the self-hosted version of WorkAdventure?
We use the Commons Clause to prevent cloud providers from selling subscriptions to WorkAdventure themselves, on the back of the work done on it and this makes the license not OSI compliant.
At WorkAdventure, we believe in the ideal of open source software. Our goal is to keep WorkAdventure as open as possible and to grow a vibrant community.

The self-hosted version is the WorkAdventure platform, installed on your own servers from the source code on GitHub. It contains everything you need to display maps and talk to people.
The online version is the same platform, connected to the administration panel. The panel is where you manage members and their tags, decide who can enter which room, handle reports and bans, send global messages, and set up SSO and white label. None of this is available in the self-hosted version.
Some features work in both, such as recording meetings.
For large corporate or institutional clients with strong privacy needs and many users, we can exceptionally provide a self-hosted administration panel, under a paid license. Contact us to discuss it, or read self-hosting the administration panel.
