Does my map have to look pixelated?

No. The pixel-art look comes from the tiles the default templates are drawn with, not from the platform. A map is built out of 32x32 pixel tiles, and what those tiles contain is entirely up to you: a flat, modern, illustrated or photographic style all work, as long as the artwork is cut to that grid.

Three ways to get a non-pixelated map

1. Use a tile set drawn in the style you want and build your map with it in Tiled, which is the tool that handles custom tile sets. You can then keep editing the content of the map in the built-in editor.
2. Commission the artwork, then assemble the map yourself.
3. Ask our designers for the whole thing, and they draw the tiles and the map together. Contact us.

Keep in mind that the tiles have to be consistent with each other. Mixing a photographic floor with a pixel-art chair looks worse than either style on its own. Whichever you pick, the interactive parts, such as meeting rooms, doors and embedded websites, work exactly the same way.
